Because of Oxlade-Chamberlain, Chelsea Keeps Kenedy
Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain refused to move to Chelsea and preferred to join Liverpool. As a result, the Blues are now considering the option of maintaining Kenedy.
Earlier, British media reported Chelsea and Arsenal had reached an agreement related to Oxlade-Chamberlain. However, the deal failed to happen because the player refused to move to Chelsea.
The main reason Oxlade-Chamberlain refused Chelsea is because it refused to be played as a wing defender. If moved to Liverpool, 24-year-old player is likely to be played as a midfielder, in accordance with the original role.
Because of this, Chelsea is now considering options to keep Kenedy. Originally the Blues want to lend the Brazilian player to Newcastle United. However, as Oxlade-Chamberlain failed to dock, Antonio Conte’s team changed their minds.
Kenedy joined Chelsea in 2015 from Brazilian club Fluminense. Kenedy recorded a new play 15 times for the Blues. Last season he was loaned to Watford, but had to spend some time to struggle with injury.
Chelsea itself failed to get a total player in the wing-back position to coat Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso. A number of players like Alex Sandro, Danilo, Ryan Bertrand and Oxlade-Chamberlain last did not want to move closer to Stamford Bridge.
